Logo Design :

A logo is basically an illustrations of your whole company image in a graphical or symbolic representation. After all what is the main purpose of logo? Why my business needs a professionally designed logo?, Answer is simple, professionally designed Logo attract attention and then leave an everlasting impression, Yes that is a fact!, just take the example of YaHoo, and millions of other logo you see daily which sure give you a good idea about the necessity of logo. That is why we create logo's which are unique and distinguish your business identity in a truly customized way by synchronizing your business image into that logo & this way you can promote a feeling of authenticity & professionalism of your company by putting forward your logo either in advertising campaign or use it for general use letterheads, envelops, business cards, website, or any place.

Here are a few fine lines which needs to be focussed while designing a Logo:(Click here to view our Logo Portfolio)

Understand : Allow your client to speak and narrate his business thoroughly without any communication flaws. Ask him about all the tinest of the tiny information about his business, because these tiny things can be a spark that lights up his corporate identity.

Analyze     : Before we go any further always remember to do an R&D with your client. Ask what his competitor's brand identity looks like. Do a lot of research with similar kind of business of what your client is into. Collect all logo's related to that topic and see the USP's of every single logo you have collected.

Agree        : When every thing is set, conclude to a solution roughly with your client as in what he has in mind and how he wants his corporate identity to be. If he wants the nike swish modified with a clockwise rotation then agree to it, at the same time fine tune it to be unique and different from nike. Because client knows his business better than you do and vice-versa.

Process     : Always remember, never design a logo with a pixel based design software. e.g. (Photoshop). Choose a vector based (object based) design software e.g. (Illustrator, Coreldraw, Fireworks). The simple logic behind this is when designed in pixel based software, the clarity of the logo gets distorted when enlarged or compressed for any purpose. Where as vector based softwares never work on pixels but on object, at the same time it gives complete control and ease of navigation for the designers to rip, bend, bind and do almost anything while designing, which is the utmost priority while creating a brand identity.

No matter what the output is, give proper RTB's (Reason to Believe) as visualised while designing. This way it becomes easier for the client to understand each and every element present in the Logo.Color plays an important role in a logo. Be very sensitive in choosing the right color for the right place. For example if your designing a Restaurants logo it really doesnt make any sense choosing subtle and dull colors because restaurant is all about shouting business and everything to do with food. So use bright colors. May be natural food colors. Avoid using dull colors for the font because in some cases the font speaks the business rather than the logo. So remember to keep the font bright. By default black is preferable. White projects even the dullest of the dullest objects in a soul stirring wavelength.Preferably maintain white as your background unless asked by the client for a specific color background.

Lets see how a logo takes it final shape with a case study

The Company  : Securenext Softwares. A leading software soultion provider wanted their old logo to take a new look.

The Challenge : First we started off with an R&D. Started looking at what the other softwares guys had in stock in. Gathered all what we found were interesting and started looking at the USP's. Hours latter we came out with the a great number of logos and apparently the first prototype which got selected by the client was like this.

The box represents a source of "Infinity" (any business).
The arrows to say intact or "held with" from both the end (secured)
This first form did talk sense, but then came the whole thing of the client wanting to have their company name and some level of fine tuning to be more precise.

The second revised version did look much better with everything intact but then we ourself thought that it needs to improvised. We thought the concept of having 'S' as a common thing, since the company name and the activity has 'S' in common.

This is how the final looks like. Just look at the transformation from stage 1 to the final logo, where a small diamond shape logo transforming into a rectangular shape corporate identity.
One important factor here is the color. Its just the use of two contrasting colors.

Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of blue. Long considered a corporate color, blue, especially darker blue, is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.
Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. The use of green in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others, both the positive and negative aspects.

If you think you are more intelligent than the people who are criticising your work, if you think "they just do not understand", then you should become a poet or a painter. Designing is all about communication and if one person does not understand what you are trying to say then you have failed.
It is no good arguing them into it, because if the concept goes wrong and gets published you cant run around to everyone who came across your vision of designing. So especially while designing a corporate identity keep in mind that this is not the place for trial and error but its the place for substantiating the right vision.
